Expedited Actions under Rule 169, Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
Expedited civil settings pursuant to Rule 169 must be made by specific written request to the Court. The request must affirmatively state that the cause of action qualifies for an expedited setting pursuant TRCP 169 and the date the discovery period in Rule 190.2(b)(1) ended.
Plea Hearings
Attorneys who have plea hearings scheduled are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to the hearing to obtain plea documents from the District Attorney. If your client is in custody, the Court will have him/her brought to the courtroom 30 minutes prior to the hearing.
Jury Duty
Jury panel members will receive a juror questionnaire along with the summons to appear. Please return your questionnaire promptly. If jury duty is cancelled and we have not received your contact information, we will not be able to contact you regarding the cancellation. You may be exempt from jury service under certain circumstances as provided by law. Legal exemptions and disqualifications are listed on your juror questionnaire. If you are legally exempt or disqualified from service, please circle or check the appropriate exemption/disqualification and sign and return the form to the Court as soon as possible. It is not necessary to call the Court if you are exempt or disqualified by law.
